WHAT IS KEFIR WATER & WHY IS IT AMAZING?  

Kefir water is one of the world's oldest naturally fermented living liquid probiotics! It's bacterial and lactic strains are ever evolving, making each bottle a probiotic powerhouse. Kefir water, also known as water kefir is non-dairy. It is created from tiny kefir granules fermenting in alkaline water and organic cane sugar for just a few short days.

During this time these tiny granules (which are actually cultures of various strains of healthy bacteria and yeasts) begin to eat the sugar. Nothing makes these kefir granules happier than eating sugar! The result of this process makes us smile from ear to ear. As they eat their little hearts out in a safe home made of glass, lactic acid and carbon dioxide are produced, and a stable environment for growing cultures is created. When the liquid is ready for bottling it is full of probiotic goodness. This is how the miracle of natural fermentation happens!

HOW IS KEFIR WATER DIFFERENT THAN KOMBUCHA?

Both kefir water and kombucha are dairy-free naturally fermented beverages, full of amazing and varied probiotic bacterias that are great for you.

Kombucha ferments for approximately a month before it is bottled for consumption.

Kefir water ferments for a few days.

Kombucha is slightly acidic and is most often carbonated.

Kefir water is mellow with a slightly sweet n' tangy flavor, and is non- carbonated.

Kombucha contains caffeine.

Kefir water by nature is caffeine free.

(2 of our flavors contain caffeine due to the tea we choose to blend with the kefir water. 5 of our flavors are mixed with herbal teas and are completely caffeine free.)
